Tachat Oganesov
Oganesov spent most of his life painting beautiful landscapes, seaports, still lifes, and candid portraits. The triplet entitled "My Home" was painted when the artist was just fourteen years old. He knew how to capture a moment in time. In many of our examples he captured a moment from Soviet time. The paintings displayed here all date from before the breakup of the Soviet Union. Oganesov died as his country gained independence in 1991. How interesting it would have been to see Oganesov's paintings from the free world perspective Soviet artists always craved.
